[AOF] Crashes on character change

Hi,

Art of Fighting crashes (reboots console with the colorful screens) whenever using cheat to use other (previously non playable) characters to fight the computer. Most of the time it crashes on jump or repeated button press.

Anyone has such a problem? I ve tried:

Cheat - cheat.dat of each corresponding mame versions used
MAME - mame117, mame121, mame123, mame124, mame32_123 running from cmd prompt window and start->run
BIOS - neogeo.zip (11 files)
ROM - aof.zip

Pls help!

I saw the line:
; In aof, do not use more than one move list cheat, period. The cheat writes

But all i did was only changing the character for story mode. Is there any other default values tat could cause the crash?

You may wanna try "Fit of Fighting" , it is the same as AOF but you can play with bosses without any problem :P :P give it a try..

Fit of fighting isn't the same as Art of fighting.

It's been completely re-coded, and as a result, most of the specials either do not work, or are stupidly hard to pull off.

It's dreadful.

Although the characters are there in the arcade (MVS) version in this case it appears to be causing the crashing problem. Have you tried using the same cheat in the NEOGEO version? Just select "Home (NEOGEO)" in the "
Select Cartridge/NeoGeo Type" cheat and if that works ok then it's likely that character selection will likely never work properly in the Arcade version and won't be a quick fix.

Thanks Pugh and guys, did toggle the arcade and home modes to no avail. The last mame version i experimented successfully is 0.98. Tried 1.03 and as far as i can remember it crashed too.
