Any way to use MK II bosses/hidden characters without crash?

I've managed to figure out adding the moveset codes to the game, but I still can't any moves from the bosses/hidden characters without the game crashing. For instance, I figured the problem was that they didn't have button combinations assigned, so I tried playing as Smoke with Scorpion's moves assigned, but it still froze. I saw a YouTube video of someone using Jade, so I figure there's gotta be some way around this. Can anybody help me out? Also, are there pallete swap cheats available for MK II? Thanks.

"Jade" is probably from a MK2 genesis hack.....
Either that or they've hacked the colours and name for kitana, which shouldn't be too hard to do with a code.......
other than that, no you can't play as bosses, especialy not Shao Khan or Kintaro.

Look up AceKombat's cheat file for MK2 Challenger it could probably help you somewhat.

That's actually what I'm working off of. But aside from noticing he did list a Noob pallette code, it doesn't really help with what I'm talking about.
Does anyone at least have codes to turn Kitana green and Scorpion gray and to make them faster (like the "have Reptile's speed" code for MK 1)?

Look at the poster's username and look at mine. That's my video lol. An example what I did for Jade:
Set Player 1 is Jade on
then turn player 1 body/moveset to kitana
Turn off MAME cheats with f6
Selectt a character and after it's been inputted hit f6
You'll be sorta Jade in the next round.

I followed those steps exactly, but the game froze instantly, and all I did was press the back button.
How do I hack the colors and speed of the characters in MK II?

Make sure your using the challenger version of MK. Also make sure its the Character that's set to Jade and NOT the body moveset. For some reason your loading a secret character's moveset. That's whats causing the freezing. As far as changing the color I dont have those codes.

I don't think theres a way to it try MkSecrets maybe they will help you
