Metal Slug 3 Madness (cheats, requests and corrections)

Hi!

I've been tinkering with the cheats for Metal Slug 3, and I've found the following, I don't know if anyone has found those, so sorry if they already are somewhere. The comments are not in the same format (Get+now!, etc...), change them as you like

These ones change the character's appearance, they are REALLY fun

mslug3:0:10058F:00:001:Turns you normal (with a normal gun)
mslug3:0:10058F:01:001:Turns you normal (with a heavy gun)
mslug3:0:10058F:02:001:Turns you fat *
mslug3:0:10058F:03:001:Turns you into a mummy
mslug3:0:10058F:06:001:Turns you into a snowman **
mslug3:0:10058F:07:001:Turns you into a zombie
(change "10058F" to "10063F" for player 2)

* This one somehow doesn't work properly, you turn fat and inmediately become slim again. Since you turn fat by picking lots of food, there must be some way to "tell" the game that you've picked up food. I can't seem to find how to do that... any help?

** This one is fairly useless in a fight (and in general) but it's really fun

I've seen on another post how to become a "submarinist" as in underwater levels and a "jet flier" like the last level. I couldn't find those by myself

These are weapons:

(change "10EAF3" to "10EB01" for player 2)

Those two codes don't work as expected. When you activate them nothing happens, but as soon as you change screens the weapon appears. Help?

((and for all the cheats change "mslug3" to whatever version you are using... "n" or "nd" I think, the regular one doesn't work, you know))

Now my requests... I've driven mad trying to find those:

Would there be any way of giving you a vehicle (Metal Slug tank and the like)? I've been trying to find a way but have found nothing, and I WANT this cheat

More weapons? I found the weapons the game uses for when you are fat (your shots are bigger and the like), but they don't work properly, you always shoot up and when you try to shoot at another direction your upper half dissapears (yikes!!).

Any way to choose the starting level?

Any way to change your character?

Infinite vehicle cannon, infinite vehicle energy, infinite Armor Slug ammo, choose Armor Slug weapon... (those are easy to find, but if anyone has found them and want to spare me some time...)

And now some corrections on the comments for weapons, I was confused the first time I saw them so I put them the names from the game:

* This one is not SUPER (flashing weapon icon), it's just called that way

** I think this one is unused. It's the Enemy Chaser for when you are fat, but in MS3 the real FAT Enemy Chaser is different. I think this one is left over from MSX. Also, this is one of those weapons I mentioned before that only shoots upwards... it's weird.

So can anyone help with the requests?

I have a problem running this game, it gets stuck when loading it so i have got to reset, dso you know what could be the problem?, i can not load the game.

All i can do is suggest these couple of things:-

1. You have a bad download (happens quite a bit), so delete your current Metal Slug 3 rom and re-download it.

2. Your computer hasn't the space to accomodate the size of the rom (you may need more memory as later NEO-GEO games are jumbo in size)

Thanks for replying me, but i think it will be a memory question ?how could i improve the mmemory of my computer (without changing C:)to make metal slug 3 playable, in fact i do not know what is the problem i have a pentium 3 with more than 7 Gb free (i have only used 2.60 Gb of 9 Gb) so i do not understand why it could be a memory problem,if it runs on your computer ?wahat kind of cpu you have?, i feel bad, do you need a N.a.s.a computer to run metal slug or what?, thanks for your reply

If it's not a bad dwnload (and you must have enough memory with what you said), then I say, I DON'T KNOW!

I have played Met'Slug 1 + 2 but I've not got round to trying the third one so I've no experience of using that rom - sorry, you've got a puzzler there!

PS - on an unrelated point, what happened to the anonymous feature? Why has it been taken down? You may lose valuable cheats from those that either haven't the time (or can't be bothered) to register or forget their password and think, 'oh f##k it, I'll leave it,' and off they go?

It's a GOOD thing to have disabled the "Anonymous" feature !

AFAIK, on all other MAME-related boards, you have to register, so where is the problem ?

ALL "legitimate" cheat finders have registered and the ones who don't want to do so are only people asking for cheats ...

Now I know that it would be a dream to see on this board only people with do their best to find and post cheats that we (Pugsy and I) need to complete our cheat databases

You think it's a good thing to deny anoymous posters - hell, that's not my view for the above reason I gave.

By the way did you see the way Pugsy posted in the 'Cheat disgrace' thread? He was irate; his grammer crumbled, he fumbled and slammed the thread shut in a huff (hope he hasn't a heart condition!)!!!

At least try to help me with my requests...

And eljose (are you from Spain?), I don't know what could be causing that problems... I downloaded my roms from mame.dk and worked fine. I've also got the latest neogeo bios.

The only times the game has hang up is when I disabled the sound... it's weird, the game hanged at random spots on the level...

If you think it's an emulator problem you should go to a forum about the emulator... maybe there you'll get more info.

Other than that... I've got a Macintosh, so I don't think I can help you with configurations...

And please, pretty please can anyone find those cheats?

I really suck at trying to find complex cheats...

I've found cheats to have Infinite Armor/Space Slug Ammo and to change the Armor/Space Slug Weapon (these Slugs only have regular weapons, though... no SUPER or Chaser/Lizard/Drop/Grenade).

I'll post them as soon as I can (I'm posting this at work

).

Now onto the Slugs cheats... damn they are tricky (if possible at all)!
